What is this exactly?
For the Love of the Land is a short documentary series showcasing people who have oriented their lives around the land. This season is showcasing three different groups of people in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area. The theme for this season has accidentally become food and each episode very much revolves around that theme.
And I would love for you to be involved!
Sponsoring one or more episodes can be a great way to not only support a community project whose aim is to make the world a little less scary, but also to align your business with like- minded clientele.
The episodes this season will be as follows:

E1: Fierce Love Farms
Passionate about giving to society and shaping it for the better, Erin and John decided to dedicate their lives to feeding people through small scale regenerative farming. But that journey isn't the romantic vision that so many people have in mind...

E2: PQB Fruit Tree Project
Dan wanted some balance in his life. After many years behind a computer, he wanted to connect back to the land and community. This lead him to creating a community garden, a network for collecting and saving local fruit, and many more projects.

E3: Jesse & the Remembering of Language
For Jesse and Ocean, speaking their native tongues has been more than a lesson in history. It is a way to connect themselves and their boys to the land on which they live, while also keeping their culture alive.

What We Are Doing
Each episode will eventually be released on Youtube, but first we are going to do at least one public showing in either Parksville or Qualicum, and one private showing for everyone directly involved in this project. Each episode will be between 10-15 minutes and tell the unique story of the project it showcases.
We will also run a social media campaign (already started with great results) to showcase the episodes and the people involved.

The Stats
One of the beautiful things about the Oceanside area is that our demographic has one of the highest per capita incomes in the country. People in Parksville and Qualicum Beach care about the environment, high quality businesses and products, and their community and then aren't afraid to put their money into those things.
Qualicum Beach has a median age of 67.5, with a median income of $76,500. more than 50% of Qualicum's households have only 2 people.
Parksville has a median age of 62 with a median income of $66,500. Just under 50% of Parksville's households have 2 people in them.
What this means is that both communities have a large population of retired folks spending money on themselves. It isn't any secret that one of the biggest things that draws people to our area is the outdoors, and people love to be engaged in supporting the places they love, which very often includes causes that align with protecting nature. Supporting a project like ours is a great way to show that your business also aligns with what their care about, and that it your business is therefore a great place to put their money. Just look around at the success of things like our farmer's markets and the multiple locally owned and operated businesses that support local and sustainable goods and it isn't hard to see where people in our communities want to put their money.
Tourism brings in a lot of revenue every year. 2024 alone saw visitors spend $209mil in our region, which is 67% of the region's economic activity. Tourism is important. People come to our region to enjoy nature, to experience the uniqueness of Vancouver Island artisans, and to relax in the "island vibes". This film series aims to continue to showcase why we are such a great destination for people seeking those things. These stories showcase how aligned our change makers are with connecting to nature and the uniqueness of this place. Aligning your business with this series shows that you too are aligned with these values.

Sponsoring For the Love of the Land
Sponsoring Season 1 of For the Love of the Land is a great way to align your business or brand with a group of people who are ready to put their money in line with their beliefs in the importance or nature and local. Not only will it get your name out into the community, but it will do so in a way that shows your community, and future visitors, that you put your money where you mouth is and support community projects aligned with nature.
We have opportunities to sponsor individual episodes, all three, or somewhere in between. Sponsorship could also include showcasing your business in all or any of the combinations of reach mentioned below.

Social Media
We have already begun this portion of our campaign with great results! We will continue to share small snippits of each episode on social media (1-2 minutes in length) as we promote and share the films.

YouTube
Once our showings have happened, our episodes will be posted on Seidr Production's Youtube channel. These episodes will be optimized to reach a local audience, as well as an audience outside of our local area that is interested in visiting the oceanside area, and interested in businesses aligning with our topics.

In Person Showings
We have yet to decide on venues, but we plan to hold two showings- first, one for those who are involved directly in the project, including sponsors, and then a second showing for the public.
